How Much CBD Should I Give My Dog?

It's no secret that our furry friends can benefit from CBD in the same way that humans do. That's part of why many pet owners have been turning to CBD to help maintain health and wellness for their pups. But, after you've talked with the vet and determined that CBD is a good fit for your pooch, there are still a few things you have to consider for getting them comfortable and accustomed to their new CBD regimen. Perhaps most importantly: how much CBD should you start with?
When introducing your pet to CBD for the first time, Bluebird always recommends starting low and slow. The standard serving size for our Companion CBD Oil is about five drops of oil. This serving includes 5 mg of cannabinoids plus terpenes, and other good parts of the hemp plant that contribute to the entourage effect for your fur baby. This is a great starting amount for most pets, regardless of size. Every pup (and every cat, for that matter) will respond differently to CBD depending on their own unique genetic makeup, so it’s best to start with a minor amount to see how they respond.
There are a couple of ways to deliver Bluebird’s CBD to your pup with ease and minimal fuss. If you’re using Companion CBD Oil, you’ll likely find the greatest success by drizzling it directly on top of their food or mixing it with treats. You may also drop it directly into their mouth.
The other important thing to keep in mind when starting your pet on a new CBD regimen is consistency. Try to give them the same product at approximately the same time every day. After two to three weeks, you can begin increasing the number of servings or the amount per serving.
