How Much CBD Should I Be Taking?

How much CBD should I be taking? It’s a seemingly simple question with a myriad of possible answers.

Like with most things cannabidiol-related, preferred serving size is unique to each person and related to what their individual endocannabinoid system needs. Prior to starting with CBD, like with adding any dietary supplement, it’s a good idea to consult with your doctor to make sure it will complement your existing vitamin and supplement routine. You always want to check with your doctor about whether CBD can interfere with any medications you’re currently taking.

With that said, we typically recommend starting low to establish a baseline and then slowly increasing the number of servings or concentration of CBD over time. Our regular-strength formulas include 10 mg of CBD per serving, which makes them a great starting point for many beginners who aren't sure how much they need. However, if you're already experienced with CBD or just eager to try a more potent product, you can jump right to our 15 mg soft gels or 25 mg concentrated oils.

Once you’ve identified your ideal serving of CBD, we usually recommend taking that serving twice a day for a period of two weeks to get started. As you go, keep a journal and jot down how you’re feeling before and about an hour after taking CBD. If you don’t think you’re getting the desired effect, you can gradually start upping your serving size by about 5 drops. Conversely, if you’re finding the impact a bit too potent, you’ll want to reduce the amount of each serving. Find the balance that works for you.

For those who have been taking CBD for a longer period of time, you may find that you want to adjust your serving size as time goes on. Just repeat the process above and figure out a new customization that feels right.
