    The CBD AM Blend
Our CBD AM Blend, Uplift, features CBG and isolated d-limonene and d-alpha-pinene terpenes, which work collaboratively to put some pep in your step in the mornings. CBG is short for cannabigerol and is known as the mother cannabinoid because it is the precursor to almost all other cannabinoids. Starting in its acidic form, cannabigerolic acid (CBGA) is broken down by a group of enzymes and converted to one of three major cannabinoid precursors: THCA, CBDA, and CBCA. CBG has been shown to support healthy antioxidant activity and works synergistically with CBD to maximize the entourage effect and increase the positive impacts that hemp extracts have on one’s health.†

    The CBD PM Blend
Our CBD PM Blend, Downshift, features CBN and isolated linalool and beta-caryophyllene terpenes. CBN is short for cannabinol, which is often the derivative product of THC after exposure to light and oxygen. In this blend, our CBN is derived from CBD in hemp. Like THC, it is an agonist of CB1 receptors but has a very low affinity for these receptors and is therefore non-psychoactive. When paired with linalool and beta-caryophyllene terpenes, CBN supports a settling effect to help you ease into your evenings. Likewise, these terpenes are also known to support healthy antioxidant activity and healthy inflammatory markers.†

Our full-spectrum hemp extract contains <0.3% THC
Total THC ≤ 0.71 mg per serving
Total THC ≤ 42.8 mg per container

    What is CBN?
CBN stands for cannabinol and is one of the 110+ cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant.  CBN is typically the oxidation product of THC and other cannabinoids, meaning that THC slowly converts to this cannabinol over time when exposed to light and oxygen. However, CBN can also be derived from hemp and converted from CBD, which is the case in our Downshift blend. CBN has a low affinity for CB1 receptors and binds preferentially to CB2 receptors. When combined with the linalool and beta-caryophyllene terpenes found in this blend, it can be used to effectively support one’s transition into the end of the day.

    What are linalool and beta-caryophyllene?
In addition to the CBN distillate, our Downshift blend also features linalool and beta-caryophyllene (BCP), which are terpenes that carry their own benefits. Terpenes are simple, organic compounds that create the scent and flavor of many of our favorite botanicals. Over 100 different terpenes have been identified in the cannabis plant.

This particular blend features linalool derived from Cinnamomum camphora, known as Ho Wood or Camphor tree. Its earthy notes pair well with that of beta-caryophyllene, which is sourced from Eugenia caryophyllata (clove) and has a strong, spicy aroma and taste. In addition to creating the natural, herbaceous taste of this blend, these terpenes have been found to support healthy antioxidant activity as well as healthy inflammatory markers.†

Beta-caryophyllene is also considered a phytocannabinoid because it binds to cannabinoid receptors, particularly CB2. Because CBN also binds to the same receptors, these two compounds make a dynamic duo in supporting internal balance when paired together in our Downshift blend.

Uplift CBG + CBD Oil Ingredients

Our Uplift CBG + CBD Oil blend contains sustainably sourced ingredients including:

    • Full-spectrum hemp extract
    • CBG isolate
    • D-limonene & d-alpha-pinene terpenes
    • Organic fractionated coconut oil

      CBG and the entourage effect
CBG is known as the “mother cannabinoid.” It’s the original form of many cannabinoids including THC, CBD, and CBC. Specific enzymes in the plant break CBGA down and “direct” it toward one of the three lines. It is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and is typically present in low concentrations, which makes it a “minor cannabinoid.”
However, CBG plays a really important role in the “entourage effect” which describes how all cannabinoids and terpenes work synergistically together to maximize their effect on the body. CBG and CBD get along like peas in a pod when featured in equal levels in a hemp extract, as in our new blend here. When combined with the extra boost of isolated terpenes, it allows the entourage effect to operate in full force and thus create the unique experience you will have with this blend.

What are terpenes and what do they do?
Terpenes are simple organic compounds that are present in the essential oils of many of our favorite botanicals. Scientists theorize that terpenes can serve many different purposes, but in cannabis, their main role is providing distinct scents and flavors as well as contributing to the entourage effect.
The two botanically-derived terpenes that are featured in our Uplift CBG + CBD Oil blend are d-alpha-pinene and d-limonene. These terpenes are most commonly found in coniferous plants and citrus fruits (which you might’ve guessed from their names). Although you might not be familiar with the scientific makeup of terpenes, you likely will be able to identify their presence easily in this blend through its bright, clean and botanical flavor. Enjoy a dropperful and imagine yourself taking a stroll through the forest on a lovely spring day!
