Learn about the ways Bluebird supports values-based change in the CBD industry and beyond

Bluebird Botanicals is at the forefront of change for the individual and for the world. We know this change comes not only from setting ourselves apart but from working together. That’s why Bluebird gives back to our community in a variety of ways that align with our compassionate culture and aspirations of fostering wellness on a global scale.

Compassion is truly at the heart of everything Bluebird does. It’s one of our five core values. We let compassion, transparency, generosity, reliability, and altruism drive the way we operate, offering customer assistance programs, supporting nonprofit organizations nationwide, and working to standardize health- and environmentally-conscious standards across the CBD and larger supplement industry.

Everyone in the Bluebird flock wants to make the world a better place. We align with and support like-minded partners, non-profits, and organizations that do the same. Mostly, we’re a down-to-earth group of big-hearted people dedicated to helping our customers on their paths to radical well-being.

Whether you’re new to the flock or have been flying with Bluebird for some time, read on to learn more about the ways Bluebird gives back to our community.

Accessibility

Bluebird aims to make a positive impact on humanity and the world, one day at a time. One of our main ways of going about this is to expand the accessibility of high-quality hemp products.

This is accomplished in part through offering assistance programs. Bluebird offers some of the most generous assistance programs in the industry, offering lifetime discounts on our CBD products to those on long-term disability, low-income families, students, teachers, first responders, medical professionals, and veterans. You can learn more about our assistance programs, including how to apply, by contacting our Customer Care team at info@bluebirdbotanicals.com and have them walk you through the process.

Bluebird promotes accessibility not just by offering discount assistance programs for specific population groups, but by offering one of the most affordable, high-quality CBD product lines on the market to begin with. Bluebird Botanicals prides itself on fairness of cost, striving to operate efficiently and pass what savings we can onto our customers. We believe in our products and never compromise on quality and accessibility. We let the effectiveness of our product line tell our story for us.

Not only does Bluebird Botanicals offer an exemplary CBD product line for an affordable rate, but we also occasionally offer sales on select products — and when we do, we utilize the momentum to pay it forward, benefiting nonprofits and causes like the Washington State University’s Honey Bee Project with a portion of proceeds from each major sale.

Bluebird Botanicals also has established partnerships that span local and nationwide causes, working to do good through direct support and promoting an inclusive brand and community. Philanthropy is the core building branch of the Bluebird nest that makes it feel so much like home.

Philanthropy

Bluebird supports a number of local and national non-profit organizations. We make financial or product contributions to organizations like the American Cancer Society, Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, Autism Research Institute, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, National Veterans Foundation, Global Fund for Women, Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, American Civil Liberties Union Foundation, Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, and Mesothelioma Resource. Our philanthropic interests are broadly human. It is imperative that we work with other healers in our sphere to truly fulfill our mission of making a happy, healthy lifestyle radically accessible to all.

Bluebird is committed to advancing philanthropic efforts as our company continues to grow. In 2019, Bluebird established a partnership with Conscious Alliance, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting communities in crisis through hunger relief and youth empowerment. The partnership began with a $100,000 donation to the organization, which equates to the average cost it takes to provide 200,000 meals for kids.

This contribution allowed Conscious Alliance to launch a capital campaign to purchase a warehouse facility to store and sort their donated food goods, enabling them to continue to feed hungry families in need. While the organization moved $1.9 million worth of food and distributed over 703,000 meals in 2018, some valuable food donations were not collected due to limitations in space and funds for shipping. The new warehouse facility ensures that they can fully utilize all food donations to send to communities in need, and keep food out of landfills.

Hunger affects one in six children in the United States, so this partnership is critically important to Bluebird. The Conscious Alliance model, which eliminates food waste by utilizing donated goods to feed families, supports two of Bluebird’s top priorities: robust wellness and environmentally-conscious business practices.

It is this sort of collaboration and resource-sharing that allows us to make real, impactful change for our world. That’s why we’re also involved in a number of industry partnerships that are shaping how the hemp crop returns to the forefront agriculturally, and in society as a whole.

Industry partnerships

Break the rules but first break the rulers.

That’s not exactly Bluebird’s M.O., but we do believe that radical rifts in the legal landscape are necessary to enact real change — and that policy trailblazers are needed to lead the charge.

To Bluebird, part of giving back means working to shift antiquated laws and policies that have disenfranchised so many for so long. Brandon J. Beatty, Bluebird Botanicals’ Founder and CEO, participates in many hemp oversight and policy groups, and Bluebird Botanicals is a member of several organizations committed to ensuring excellence in hemp education and the industry at large.

Beatty is the former Executive Vice President of the U.S. Hemp Roundtable, the most influential political hemp organization in America. Beatty also formerly served as the Chairman of the Roundtable’s Policy & Messaging Committee and sat on the Board of Directors for the Hemp Industries Association, a nationwide hemp trade association that’s been serving the industry for over 25 years. Bluebird considers participation in these groups invaluable as it directs the conversation around cannabis and CBD and allows us to open doors where previously there had only been walls.

Bluebird Botanicals is also a member of the Colorado Hemp Roundtable, a local hemp organization involved in legislative matters at the state level that was largely responsible for the successful passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, which made hemp federally legal for the first time in over 40 years. Additionally, Bluebird is a member of the American Herbal Products Association, and a member of the ASTM International D37 Committee on Cannabis, whose roots date back to the late 1800’s. We are on the Advisory Boards of Aims Community College's new Hemp Program and the Realm of Caring, a 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on providing education and services related to the use of cannabinoids.

Those threads of access and education are woven strongly into the fabric of the Bluebird brand, and we are continually looking for additional ways to maximize our impact through these channels.
